Your pets & product care

At the guinea pig wheekly a lot of care and time is taken into processing all the natural products we bring to people to ensure that everything is tip top quality and ready to be enjoyed by your pet!

Here is our general product care and safety advice though to ensure you enjoy all products in a safe and pet friendly way.

Forage ingredients used by the guineapig wheekly is sourced via reputable family farms specialised in small pet supplies in the uk. Many of which is grown in the uk, meaning we specialise in using product that's grown close to home supporting uk grown produce.

Dates and best before : Forage ingredients are all carefully dried many of which have a shelf life of 12 to 24 months. Ofcourse as a customer you will likely use this much sooner than that , we hope this gives abit of transparency! All product will come with a best before date ( meaning its not bad but its full flavour is there within the time given and could depreciate after).

Quality : All forage supply at the gpw is rotated every 6 to 8 months meaning that everything is as fresh as possible and we only buy what we need to avoid waste. This is a natural product it can be rare but natural parts of nature that grow amongst it can turn up in the blends. We do our best to remove these where they might turn up during packaging but if you do find anything abit unusual don't worry (bugs, feathers, pebbles etc can sometimes turn up but its nothing to worry about simply pop it in the bin).

Product weights : All product packaging has weight labels on it applied seperately, very often this is a base weight and we often give a little more for customers to account for varied mass such as flower buds vs petal weight for example.

Any small pet whether guinea pig or rabbit love forage! It's a complimentary part of any well balanced diet to be enjoyed in moderation alongside plenty of hay and fresh water.

Please monitor your pet when feeding forage though, some forages may contain but not limited to stems / twigs / sprigs / buds / seeds / flower husk and or varied size of dried vegetables naturally stuck together in the drying process.

Sometimes your pet may try to eat more than they can chew, so please monitor and be on hand to remove anything that may cause obstruction or difficulties digesting the food to keep your pet safe.

Any reactions to any forage please stop feeding immediately and discard. In some rare cases pet's can have allergies or sensitivities and it's important as a pet owner / guardian to tailor your pet's diet to prevent any health issues. Remember seek a veterinarians advice if you at anytime notice your pet becomes unwell or has any adverse reaction to any changes in diet.

All small pet toys in the guinea pig wheekly shop are made from 100% natural materials. Material such as natural rattan (wood) , corn husk , woven seagrasses, natural recycled card and raffia are used to create fun and interactive toys for your pet to enjoy, curbing the boredom in their day!

Please know though you need to monitor your pet when any natural toy is in use.

  • Monitor your pet when toys are in use and remove when play time is over ( usually 20 to 30 minutes is plenty of time for your pet to enjoy it and get multiple uses).
  • Please discard of toys if the following are apparent but not limited to signs of wear and tear, product disfigurement , broken parts or area's in which toys have become exposed to soiling or natural moisture.
  • By removing toys when they are past their best, you help to prevent any risk of choking / mold development / events of your pet becoming stuck in toy parts or aspects of interactive toys.

Please be sure as a responsible pet owner / guardian you read all the advice provided and if you are ever unsure and need advice please send an email to here.

Please be sure to inform at the time of purchase interest what pet you are looking to acquire any forages or toys for, for you to be pointed in the direction of what may be suitable and meet your needs.

If you require any further information please ask we will happily provide it via our contact form or by emailing gpigwheeklyshop@gmail.com (information is also available on our product labeling where applicable*).
